Gravel driveways often benefit from the addition of a rumble strip. A rumble strip is a section of hardstanding (usually block paving or reclaimed stone setts) which is installed at the entrance of the driveway.
The rumble strip is aesthetically pleasing and also provides an area where any bits of gravel that get caught on the car tyres can drop off and easily be swept back onto the driveway.
If gates are installed the rumble strip tends to be run from the pavement to the gate line.
